- Avionics Sales

Paul E. Newberry - President/Owner

PaulPaul Newberry has more than 40 years' experience working with electronics and avionics. His training began in 1961 with a four-year tour of duty in the U. S. Air Force, where he spent one year in basic electronics schools and three years as a bench technician. After his Honorable Discharge, he first worked as a TV repairman. In 1966, he went to work for the Delaware National Guard as an avionics technician, and after that he worked for two Delaware FBO's. He obtained his commercial pilots license with Multi-engine and Instrument ratings while at Summit Aviation.  He had been the Avionics Manager for seven years when he was approached by Lain Avionics to start a branch of their Texas-based operation in Delaware. After two years, Lain offered Paul a chance to go out on his own. That was the start of the business that is now FlightSource.

While with Lain, Paul was given a PC Junior and a Users Manual. He soon developed a keen interest and appreciation for computers. After becoming frustrated with the limitations of trying to conform commercially available software to his business needs, he decided to teach himself to program in Dbase language. The extensive software that FlightSource uses to track inventory, create invoices and purchase orders, track our customers and vendors, and control our quality program has been written entirely by Paul, in Visual Dbase5.7 (16 Bit). Making the change/leap to (32bit) DbasePlus now.
